Good evening! Please enjoy this sneak peek at a brand new Emma Kohlmann work on paper to help negate those Sunday Scaries:

Untitled, 2024

Sumi ink and watercolor on paper

35 x 37 inches (88.9 x 93.98 centimeters)

$6,500 + frame

Anyone who is a fan of Emma’s work knows that this is a strikingly perfect work by her, encompassing all the iconic features that make Emma’s practice so unique. I’m grateful to offer it to my subscribers before it’s professionally photographed and presented in a gallery! The rest of the works in tonight’s issue are for paid subscribers, and next issue will focus on artists incorporating technologies into their practice. To my paid subscribers, thank you as always, and enjoy the works below!!

Bronx Calling: The Sixth AIM Biennial (Part One) is opening at The Bronx Museum this Friday, January 26. Emerging Patrons are invited to a special breakfast walkthrough, and a fun evening reception from 6-8pm that’s free to register for anyone here. I’m so excited to see this exhibition, with a diverse and international roster of AIM Fellows artists. You can read more about the exhibition below.

“In response to the world-altering events of the past four years, these AIM Fellows have been exploring urgent issues through their work—critiquing systems of power through the lens of lived experience and cultural identity as well as pushing boundaries of visual language and materiality. Some artists sought to apply the lens of lived experience to contemporary issues; others used it as a launching pad to imagine possible solutions and speculative futures.” - The Bronx Museum press release
